Description

Witch’s Brew Halloween Punch is a spooky, fun, and refreshing party drink featuring ginger ale, pineapple juice, lemon juice, and lime sherbet. Served in a cauldron with dry ice for a dramatic smoking effect, this punch is perfect for Halloween celebrations and easy to prepare in just five minutes.

Ingredients

Scale

Drink Ingredients

  • 2 liters ginger ale, chilled
  • 4 cups pineapple juice, chilled
  • 1/3 cup lemon juice, fresh (optional)
  • 1 tub lime sherbet (~48 oz)

Other Items

  • 1 block dry ice (around 5 lbs for a 3-hour party)
  • Large cauldron
  • Punch bowl that fits inside cauldron

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dry Ice: Break the dry ice into large pieces using a mallet or other tool. Wear gloves to protect your hands from burns. Place some dry ice pieces at the bottom of the cauldron and keep the remaining dry ice in a cooler nearby for later use.
  2. Create the Smoking Effect: Pour hot water over the dry ice in the cauldron to initiate the spooky smoke effect that will enhance the Halloween presentation.
  3. Assemble the Punch Bowl: Place the punch bowl on top of the dry ice inside the cauldron.
  4. Mix the Punch: Combine the chilled ginger ale, pineapple juice, and optional fresh lemon juice in the punch bowl. Stir gently to mix all the liquids evenly.
  5. Add the Sherbet: Spoon scoops of lime sherbet into the punch bowl and mix for a few minutes until the sherbet begins to melt, creating a creamy, fizzy texture.
  6. Serve and Maintain: Serve the punch in cups avoiding direct contact with dry ice. Replenish dry ice and hot water periodically to keep the smoke effect going throughout the party.

Notes

  • Always handle dry ice with gloves to prevent skin burns.
  • Do not place dry ice directly into the punch bowl or beverage cups to avoid ingestion hazards.
  • If lime sherbet is unavailable, a similar citrus sorbet can be used as a substitute.
  • Use fresh lemon juice for the best flavor, but it is optional and can be omitted.
  • Keep extra dry ice in a cooler to ensure continuous smoking during long parties.
  • This recipe works best when served immediately after mixing.
