Description

A refreshing and healthy Strawberry Banana Smoothie made with nonfat vanilla Greek yogurt, frozen fruits, and almond milk. Perfect for a quick breakfast or energizing snack.

Ingredients

Units Scale

Liquids

  • 1/2 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk

Dairy

  • 5.3 ounces nonfat vanilla Greek yogurt (1 single serving cup)

Fruits

  • 1 medium frozen banana (about 3 oz/91g)
  • 5 frozen sliced strawberries (about 2.5 oz/70g)
  • 5 apple slices (about 2.5 oz/76g)

Optional

  • Sweetener of choice (honey, agave, or stevia) to taste
  • Protein powder (optional, for added protein)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Ingredients: Slice and freeze the banana and strawberries about 2 hours ahead of time if they are not already frozen. Slice the apple fresh.
  2. Add Ingredients to Blender: Pour the almond milk into the bottom of your blender. Add the nonfat vanilla Greek yogurt, frozen banana, frozen strawberries, and apple slices on top.
  3. Blend Smooth: Blend the mixture until smooth and creamy, ensuring all the fruits and yogurt are fully incorporated.
  4. Serve and Store: Pour the smoothie into a glass and serve immediately. Store any leftovers in the refrigerator and consume within 24 hours.

Notes

  • Use any nondairy milk, nonfat milk, water, or apple juice as a substitute for almond milk.
  • You can substitute the vanilla Greek yogurt for plain yogurt, any fat content, any flavor, or even regular yogurt.
  • Fuji or Gala apples are preferred, but any apple variety you enjoy can be used.
  • For a sweeter smoothie, add honey, agave, or a stevia-based sweetener to taste.
  • To increase protein content, add a scoop of your favorite protein powder before blending.
  • Freezing the fruits enhances the smoothie texture and chill.
