Description

Delicious and easy-to-make Santa Fe Turkey Sliders featuring Hawaiian rolls layered with deli sliced turkey, spicy mayo, pepper jack cheese, and diced green chiles, all topped with a flavorful butter sauce and baked to melty perfection.

Ingredients

Scale

Spicy Mayo

  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon yellow curry powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Sandwiches

  • 12 count package Hawaiian rolls
  • 1 pound deli sliced turkey
  • 8 ounces shredded pepper jack cheese
  • 1 (7 ounce can) diced green chiles, drained

Butter Sauce

  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1 tablespoon poppy seeds
  • 1 tablespoon dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and lightly grease a 9×13 or 8×11-inch baking pan to prepare for baking the sliders.
  2. Make Spicy Mayo: In a small bowl, combine 1/4 cup mayonnaise, 1/2 teaspoon paprika, 1/2 teaspoon yellow curry powder, 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper, and 1/4 teaspoon salt, stirring until well blended. Set aside.
  3. Prepare Rolls: Remove the Hawaiian rolls from the packaging as a whole slab and slice them horizontally to create a top and bottom half slab. Place the bottom slab into the greased baking pan evenly.
  4. Assemble Sliders: Spread the spicy mayo evenly over the bottom slab of rolls. Add an even layer of half the shredded pepper jack cheese, then place all of the deli sliced turkey evenly over the cheese. Spoon the drained diced green chiles over the turkey and cover with the remaining cheese. Place the top slab of rolls on top to complete the sandwich.
  5. Make Butter Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, poppy seeds, dijon mustard, onion powder, and Worcestershire sauce until well combined.
  6. Add Butter Sauce and Bake: Drizzle or brush the butter mixture generously over the top slab of rolls to evenly coat. Loosely cover the baking pan with aluminum foil and bake for 10 minutes at 350°F until the cheese has melted and the sliders are heated through.
  7. Serve: Remove from the oven and serve the sliders hot for a flavorful and satisfying meal or snack.

Notes

  • Use freshly shredded pepper jack cheese for better melting and flavor.
  • Drain the diced green chiles well to prevent soggy sliders.
  • Substitute Hawaiian rolls with slider buns if unavailable.
  • Can add lettuce or tomato slices for extra freshness if desired.
  • Make the spicy mayo ahead and refrigerate to enhance flavors.
  • Leftover sliders can be refrigerated and reheated in the oven for best results.
