Meat
- 1 pound ground beef
Dairy and Canned Goods
- 1 16-ounce box Velveeta cheese
- 1 10-ounce can Rotel tomatoes
Instructions
- Brown the beef: Place the ground beef in a large pot on the stove over medium heat. Cook and stir until the beef is browned and no longer pink.
- Prepare the cheese: Cut the Velveeta cheese into chunks to help it melt faster.
- Combine ingredients: Add the entire can of Rotel tomatoes (including liquid) to the browned beef. Stir in the chunks of Velveeta cheese.
- Melt the cheese: Stir frequently over medium heat until the cheese is completely melted and the mixture is smooth.
- Serve: Transfer the dip to a serving bowl and serve warm with chips or your favorite dipping foods.
Notes
- Using Velveeta gives the dip a smooth, creamy texture; you can substitute with other processed cheeses if preferred.
- If you want a spicier dip, use Rotel tomatoes labeled ‘Hot’.
- This dip can be kept warm in a slow cooker or warming tray during parties.
- For a thicker dip, drain some of the Rotel tomato liquid before adding.
- Serve with tortilla chips, crackers, or fresh vegetables for dipping.
