- 24 Hershey’s Hugs
- black sanding sugar, 2 tablespoons
- orange sanding sugar, 2 tablespoons
- royal icing eyes, 48 pieces (2 per pretzel bite)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 200 degrees Fahrenheit to prepare for melting the Hershey’s Hugs.
- Arrange Pretzels: Place pretzel snaps flat on a silicone baking mat or parchment paper-lined baking sheet to prevent sticking.
- Add Hugs: Unwrap Hershey’s Hugs and place one on top of each pretzel snap.
- Melt Chocolate: Bake for 3 minutes or until the Hershey’s Hugs are shiny and soft but not fully melted, allowing easy pressing of eyes.
- Decorate: Remove from oven and immediately sprinkle each with black and orange sanding sugar. Then gently press two royal icing eyes onto each melted Hug to create monster faces. If the chocolate isn’t soft enough, return to oven for 30 seconds more.
- Set Bites: Transfer the pretzel bites to the refrigerator and chill for 15 minutes to allow the topping to firm up.
