Description

This delicious Leftover Halloween Candy Brownie Trifle is a decadent layered dessert featuring rich brownies, creamy instant chocolate pudding, fluffy whipped cream, and a generous topping of chopped Halloween candy bars. Perfect for using up leftover candy and creating a crowd-pleasing treat that’s easy to assemble and impressive to serve.

Ingredients

Scale

Brownie Layer

  • 1 batch brownie recipe baked, 9×13 inch pan (boxed mix is fine)

Pudding Layer

  • 1 box instant chocolate pudding (99-120 grams)

Topping and Whipped Cream

  • 3 cups chopped Halloween chocolate bars and candy
  • 3 cups whipping cream
  • 1 tablespoon white sugar

Instructions

  1. Prepare Brownies: Slice the entire 9×13 inch pan of brownies into thirds, then chop each third into pieces to form the layers.
  2. Make Pudding: Prepare the instant chocolate pudding according to the package directions and set aside.
  3. Whip Cream: Using a mixer, whip the 3 cups of whipping cream with 1 tablespoon of white sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Assemble Layers: Start with one third of the chopped brownies as the first layer in a large trifle dish or bowl. Spread 1 cup of chocolate pudding evenly on top of the brownies, followed by 1 cup of whipped cream, then 1 cup of chopped Halloween candy.
  5. Repeat Layers: Repeat the layering process twice more—brownies, pudding, whipped cream, and candy—ending with a final layer of Halloween candy on top and reserving 1 cup of whipped cream.
  6. Top and Garnish: Spread the remaining whipped cream over the top of the trifle. Garnish with additional chopped Halloween chocolate bars as desired.
  7. Chill: Refrigerate the trifle for at least 6 hours to allow the flavors to meld. For a softer texture, refrigerate overnight. If you prefer a slight chew in the candy, prepare at least 3 hours ahead of serving.

Notes

  • Use boxed brownie mix for convenience or homemade brownies for a richer flavor.
  • Any combination of leftover Halloween candy works well—feel free to mix chocolates, caramel, and nougat candies.
  • Allow the trifle to chill sufficiently to let the pudding set and the flavors meld properly.
  • If desired, substitute the whipping cream with a non-dairy alternative to make it dairy-free, but note that texture may vary.
  • For a more festive presentation, use a clear trifle bowl to showcase the distinct layers.
