Scale
Main Ingredients
- 12 jumbo marshmallows (gluten-free)
- 12 cake pop sticks
- Sprinkles for hair
- Candy eyes
- Sweets for mouth
- 170 g (1 cup) orange candy melts
- 170 g (1 cup) green candy melts
- 170 g (1 cup) yellow candy melts
Instructions
- Insert Sticks: Place the cake pop sticks into each jumbo marshmallow carefully and set them aside on a flat surface.
- Prepare Decorations: Lay out the sprinkles, candy eyes, and sweets on a plate or small bowls for easy access while decorating.
- Melt Candy: Melt the orange, green, and yellow candy melts in separate bowls according to the package instructions, usually by microwaving in short bursts and stirring until smooth.
- Dip Marshmallows: Dip each marshmallow into one of the melted candy melts until fully coated. Immediately dip the top of the marshmallow into the sprinkles to create ‘hair’.
- Add Facial Features: While the candy coating is still wet, place candy eyes and sweets on the marshmallow to form the mouth and eyes.
- Set to Harden: Place the decorated marshmallow pops upright or on parchment paper and allow them to harden completely at room temperature or in the refrigerator.
- Repeat: Repeat the dipping and decorating process with all marshmallows, using different colors of candy melts for variety.
Notes
- Use gluten-free marshmallows to keep this treat safe for gluten-sensitive individuals.
- To melt candy melts evenly, microwave in 20-second intervals stirring in between to avoid burning.
- Use parchment paper or a silicone mat to prevent sticking when marshmallows harden.
- If candy melts become too thick, add a small amount of vegetable oil to thin them.
- Store marshmallow pops in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
- These pops make great Halloween treats for kids and classroom parties.
- For alternate Halloween treats, consider trying Zombie Fingers or Halloween Mini Pumpkin Muffins.
