Description

Delight in these Magic Coconut Bars featuring a crunchy graham cracker crust topped with a luscious blend of coconut flakes, semi-sweet chocolate chips, walnuts, and sweet condensed milk. Perfectly baked to golden perfection, these bars offer a delicious combination of textures and flavors ideal for any dessert lover.

Ingredients

Scale

Crust

  • 2 cup graham cracker crushed
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 14 tbsp unsalted butter melted
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder

Topping

  • 3 cup coconut flakes
  • 2 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
  • 24 oz condensed milk
  • 2/3 cup chopped walnuts

Instructions

  1. Prepare the crust mixture: Crush graham crackers using a food processor or blender until fine. In a large bowl, combine crushed graham crackers, flour, baking powder, salt, and brown sugar. Add melted unsalted butter and mix thoroughly until you achieve a soft, crumbly texture.
  2. Bake the crust: Spread the crumbly dough evenly in a thin layer on a lined baking sheet sized approximately 11×16 inches. Press down firmly with your hands to form a compact base. Bake in a preheated oven at 350 °F for 10 minutes until lightly golden.
  3. Prepare the topping: In a separate bowl, combine coconut flakes, semi-sweet chocolate chips, and chopped walnuts. Drizzle the condensed milk over this mixture and stir well to evenly coat all ingredients.
  4. Assemble and bake bars: Evenly spread the coconut, chocolate, walnut, and condensed milk mixture over the pre-baked crust. Return the baking sheet to the oven and bake at 350 °F for an additional 20 minutes until the topping is set and slightly golden.
  5. Cool and serve: Remove the baking sheet from the oven and allow the bars to cool to room temperature. Once cooled, cut into approximately 40 individual bars of your desired size. Serve and enjoy your Magic Coconut Bars.

Notes

  • You can substitute chopped walnuts with pecans or almonds for a different nutty flavor.
  • Use sweetened or unsweetened coconut flakes based on your sweetness preference.
  • Ensure the crust is pressed firmly to prevent crumbling when cutting the bars.
  • Storage recommendation: Store bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days or refrigerate for longer freshness.
