Description

Crispy Carrot Chips are a deliciously savory and healthy snack made by baking thinly sliced carrots layered over parmesan cheese. Seasoned with salt, paprika, and onion powder, these chips have a perfect golden crunch and pair wonderfully with a spicy Lazy Tzatziki dip.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 7 oz shredded parmesan cheese
  • 3 large carrots, peeled
  • 1/2 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Paprika to taste
  • Onion powder to taste

Serve with

  • Lazy Tzatziki Dip (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400℉ and line a 12×17 inch rimmed baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare Parmesan Layer: Sprinkle the shredded parmesan cheese evenly across the prepared baking tray to form a uniform layer.
  3. Slice Carrots: Slice the peeled carrots into medium thickness coins, ensuring they are not too thick or too thin for even baking.
  4. Arrange Carrots: Place the carrot coins on top of the parmesan layer, making sure they are touching for a consistent chip texture.
  5. Season and Oil: Lightly brush the tops of the carrot slices with olive oil and season evenly with salt, paprika, and onion powder according to taste.
  6. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes or until the edges of the carrots are browned and the middle is golden brown and crispy.
  7. Cool and Serve: Allow the carrot chips to cool for a few minutes on the tray, then tear into chip-sized pieces with your hands. Enjoy warm or at room temperature with Lazy Tzatziki dip if desired.

Notes

  • To enhance flavor, try mixing a little Sriracha sauce into the Lazy Tzatziki dip for a spicy kick.
  • Ensure carrot slices are uniform in thickness for even baking and crispiness.
  • Use fresh parmesan cheese for best melting and crisp texture.
  • Store leftover chips in an airtight container to maintain crispness.
