This One-Pot Creamy Beef and Garlic Butter Pasta is a comforting, easy-to-make dish that combines savory ground beef with rich, creamy sauce and perfectly cooked pasta. With garlic, parmesan cheese, and a hint of Italian seasoning, it’s a flavorful meal perfect for busy weeknights. Cooking everything in one pot makes cleanup a breeze, while optional red pepper flakes add a touch of heat for those who like a little kick.

Ingredients

Units Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
  • 3 cups beef broth
  • 2 cups milk
  • 12 oz pasta (penne, rotini, or fettuccine)
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook the Beef & Garlic: Heat olive oil in a large deep skillet or pot over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook for 6 minutes, breaking it up until browned. Stir in garlic, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes, cooking for 1 minute until fragrant.
  2. Add Liquid & Pasta: Pour in beef broth and milk, stirring well to combine. Add pasta and Italian seasoning, ensuring the pasta is mostly submerged. Bring the mixture to a simmer, cover the pot, and cook for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally until the pasta is tender.
  3. Make it Creamy: Reduce heat to low and stir in parmesan cheese and butter until fully melted and the sauce becomes creamy. Adjust seasoning as needed. If the sauce is too thick, add a splash of milk or beef broth to reach desired consistency.
  4. Serve & Enjoy: Garnish pasta with fresh chopped parsley and extra parmesan cheese if desired. Serve hot alongside garlic bread or a fresh side salad for a complete meal.

Notes

  • Make it extra creamy by swapping milk for heavy cream.
  • Add mushrooms or spinach before simmering for more flavor and veggies.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently with a splash of milk to restore creaminess.
  • Use gluten-free pasta to make the dish gluten-free if needed.
  • For less fat, use lean ground beef and low-fat milk.
