Description

A delicious Cranberry Turkey Grilled Cheese sandwich combining savory turkey, sweet cranberries, and melted provolone cheese grilled to golden perfection. Perfect for using Thanksgiving leftovers or a quick comforting meal.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 2 slices bread
  • 3 oz turkey (fresh or deli sliced)
  • 1/4 cup prepared cranberries (cooked according to bagged directions)
  • 2 slices provolone cheese
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Bread: Spread mayonnaise evenly on one side of each slice of bread. This will add flavor and help create a golden crust when grilling.
  2. Assemble the Sandwich: On the un-mayo side of one slice, layer the provolone cheese first to help it melt against the bread, then add the turkey slices, and finally spoon the prepared cranberries on top of the turkey. Top with the other slice of bread, mayo side down.
  3. Heat the Pan: Place a skillet or frying pan over low to medium heat and melt the butter to coat the surface evenly.
  4. Grill the Sandwich: Place the sandwich in the pan and cook for 4 minutes per side or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted and oozing out slightly. Use a spatula to press gently for even grilling.
  5. Serve Warm: Remove from the pan and slice if desired. Serve immediately while warm and melty.

Notes

  • Use freshly baked bread and cheese sliced from a block for best melting and flavor.
  • If fresh cranberries are unavailable, use canned or pre-made cranberry sauce heated briefly.
  • Adjust cooking heat as necessary to avoid burning bread before cheese melts.
  • Butter can be substituted with mayonnaise or oil for grilling if preferred.
  • Leftover turkey from meals works perfectly in this sandwich.
